100 MPH chase ends with arrest

HARRIS COUNTY — A deputy with Constable Mark Herman’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 11600 block of the Katy Freeway, this morning (Sept. 6, 2018).

The driver failed to stop, leading deputies on a brief pursuit.

After reaching speeds of approximately 100 miles per hour, the suspect lost control of the vehicle and struck a yield sign. The suspect then exited his vehicle and attempted to evade on foot. Officers were able to quickly detain the suspect and identify him as Romeo Thompson. No injuries occurred during the pursuit.

“Romeo Thompson was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with evading arrest with motor vehicle,” said Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman. “His bond and court information have not been set at this time.”
