“The ag program in CFISD has grown by leaps and bounds since our first districtwide livestock show in 1995,” said Denise Kubecka, lead curriculum coordinator in the career and technical education department. “Over the last 25 years, the program grew from eight ag teachers across five high schools to 32 teachers supporting over 3,000 students across 12 high schools. The CFISD Livestock Show is one of the many opportunities these students have to develop skills in project management, responsibility and perseverance; all skills needed to be successful in life. The countless hours spent raising livestock or designing and building projects is evident the moment they step in the arena.”
