CYPRESS — The Cypress-Fairbanks ISD’s 26th annual district-wide College Night is scheduled for Oct. 13-14 and will feature a new format as the event will be conducted virtually and open to all grade levels.
College Night will be held through the Texas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (TACRAO)/GoToCollegeFair platform. Students and parents will have the opportunity to explore and connect with nearly 400 colleges and universities across the world (access student registration instructions). Participants will also be able to narrow their search by major, region, size and other criteria to find the schools that are the best fit.
The designated event time for both days is 6-8 p.m. College and admissions representatives will be available during those times to chat live with interested event participants and conduct virtual presentations and meetings. Event participants will also be able to view videos, download links and helpful resources, and schedule virtual appointments to seek additional information.
An additional session will also be available Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. to noon for those unable to attend the live event.
College Night has traditionally been held over two days at the Berry Center, but the department of guidance and counseling switched to a virtual format to avoid large gatherings.
This year, students and parents will also have access to the TACRAO Virtual College Fair website, which will be available until Nov. 20. Additional features and opportunities will help in exploring numerous schools, while scheduling virtual appointments for additional one-on-one time is also available.
