Nov. 14, 2018—Three different middle schools won bracket championships at the Middle School “A” Volleyball Tournaments, held at various campuses Nov. 5 and Nov. 10.

The tournament gives CFISD middle schools additional contests in addition to the nine-week regular season which runs from Sept. 20 through Nov. 12. The bracket also allows for more opportunities for crossover zone games.

In the Eighth-Grade Gold Bracket, Aragon Middle School was crowned champion and Salyards Middle School was runner up. Aragon won the championship match 15-25, 27-25, 25-23.

In the Eighth-Grade Silver Bracket, Smith Middle School finished first and Anthony Middle School placed second. Smith won the finals match 25-18, 20-25, 25-22.

In the Seventh-Grade Gold Bracket, Smith won the title ahead of second-place Hamilton Middle School. Smith won the championship match 25-18, 23-25, 25-23.

In the Seventh-Grade Silver Bracket, Salyards Middle School finished first and Anthony placed second. Salyards won the finals match 25-16, 25-15.
