Burglary suspect caught in the act


CYPRESS — According to the Precinct 5 Constable Ted Heap’s office, deputies arrested a burglary suspect shortly after entering a home in the Cypress area.

According to the precinct, constable deputies caught and arrested Eduardo Soto, 23, for attempting to burglarize a northwest Harris County home at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2019. A homeowner in the 7600 block of Ameswood entered his attached garage and found Soto inside in the process of burglarizing it.

The precinct explained that the intended victim said, Soto apologized and ran away. The homeowner was able to get a photo of the suspect as he fled and, shortly thereafter, one of Constable Heap’s deputies spotted and arrested Soto at a nearby gas station at Jackrabbit Road and FM 529.
