CYPRESS TEXAS — Stephanie Thomas, principal at Horne Elementary School, was named the new principal at Adam Elementary School on May 7. Thomas replaces Beth May, who will retire in June.
Thomas has 19 years of experience in education, with all but one being in CFISD. She began her career as a math and science teacher in Alief ISD before joining CFISD in 2001 as a teacher at Reed Elementary School. She was promoted to team leader and at-risk specialist and later named an assistant principal at Horne in 2006.
Thomas was named principal at Horne in 2012 and has served in that role for seven years.
Thomas received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston and her Master of Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University.
“It is truly an honor to be chosen to serve the Adam Elementary community,” Thomas said. “Adam is a school of tradition and excellence remaining focused on the needs of its students. I look forward to joining the Adam family and working as a team with the students, educators and families within the community to provide the best learning opportunities possible for every student every day.”
