CYPRESS — Paula Ross, director of network infrastructure and communications, was named the new chief technology officer on Dec. 4. Ross replaces Frankie Jackson, who will retire in December.

Ross has worked for CFISD since 1999 in in various technology capacities: network engineer server support (1999-2003), manager of server infrastructure (2003-2014) and in her current position.

She has played a critical role in the implementation of $90 million worth of technology projects within CFISD, including a complete network redesign that has brought the district’s technology infrastructure into the 21st Century.

Ross received her bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Lamar University.

“Technology is becoming more ubiquitous in today’s world and students need to be proficient in communicating, collaborating, critical thinking and using creativity to solve real world problems,” Ross said. “CFISD has committed to creating a transformative learning environment for our students and I am honored to be a part of that commitment.”
