CFISD Student of the Week: Syed Murtaza


CYPRESS — Hancock Elementary School second grade student Syed Murtaza has been a model classmate throughout virtual learning in 2020-2021. Teachers credit Murtaza, who is learning through CFISD Connect, with helping others and explaining non-verbal communication tools online.

Accomplishments: Murtaza is utilizing CFISD Connect and exhibits excellent communication skills with his classmates in the virtual platform and the traditional face-to-face learning. His teachers say he is able to assist classmates, using language that they can understand.

Favorite class: “I have helped several students in my class by being a peer teacher.”

Favorite things to do after class: “Play games, watch television and go swimming.”

Favorite song:The Grass is Greener on the Other Side.”

Favorite website: “Google, because you can get more and more information.”

Favorite TV show:Master Chef Junior.”

Favorite movie:Pokémon.”

Ambition: “I want to join the service and be a soldier in the Marines.”

What topics/things are you passionate about?: “I’m passionate about my family, myself and my grandmother.”

What inspires you?: “Being respectful and reading chapter books about exploring.”

What three things can’t you live without?: “I can’t live without my family, my grandmother and my games.”

What are you most looking forward to this semester?: “I’m looking forward to writing and reading more chapter books.”
