CFISD volleyball standouts earn TAVC, TXSWA All-State honors


CYPRESS TEXAS — Led by Cypress Ranch High School senior Michelle Klein, six CFISD volleyball standout athletes were recently named to all-state teams by the Texas Association of Volleyball Coaches (TAVC) and Texas Sports Writers Association (TXSWA).

Klein earned honors by both associations. She was joined by fellow Cypress Ranch senior Peyton Debello in receiving honorable mention on the TXSWA Class 6A All-State team.

Four others joined Klein in receiving TAVC Class 6A All-State honors: Cy-Fair High School senior Elyse Buras and sophomore Rebekah Portalatin, Cypress Ranch senior Sabrina Sustala and Langham Creek High School junior Erica Lowery.

Cy-Fair High School sophomore Rebekah Portalatin earned all-state honors by the Texas Association of Volleyball Coaches.

Buras and Klein were also named to the TAVC 5A/6A All-Star team.

Klein, Debello and Sustala helped lead Cypress Ranch to the outright District 14-6A championship, while Buras and Portalatin led Cy-Fair to the District 17-6A title.
