HARRIS COUNTY — Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department crews helped extinguish a house fire east of Jersey Village last night.

It took 30 CFVFD personnel with 11 different vehicles and “support apparatuses”, along with the Houston Fire Department assisting with mutual aid, to put out the fire.

No injuries were reported from the house fire at 7839 Kellwood Dr. Officials say the 1-Alarm fire happened just before midnight of the unoccupied home.

“(The) first arriving crews arrived to find heavy fire and smoke visible through the collapsing roof on an unoccupied home,” a department official stated. “The home was  listed for rent and no occupants were believed to be inside at the time of the fire.”

As of press time, the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
