Come Hear Why You Should Consider a Nonprofit Career Sept. 30

CYPRESS — Kicking off this semester’s Speaking of Business Series is a presentation titled “Leading a Thriving Organization: Nonprofit Management” and set for Sept. 30, 2019, at Lone Star College-CyFair.

“If you are looking for the opportunity to make a huge difference in the local community through passionate work, then you may want to consider having a career in the nonprofit sector,” said Ellen Junious, LSC-CyFair business professor and series coordinator.

LSC-CyFair Business Professor Ann Marie McDonald believes working for a nonprofit organization is sometimes overlooked by job hunters.

“The reality is nonprofit organizations are excellent places to expand your knowledge and skill set and see the impact your work is making,” she said.

Discussing their experiences leading and working in their respective organizations will be a panel of nonprofit executives from Mothers Against Drunk Driving, BakerRipley Community Developers, Childbuilders, Montgomery County Community Developers and Air Alliance of Houston.

Light refreshments will be served at this upcoming event held from 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. in the Conference Center at 9191 Barker Cypress; however, space is limited.

The free Speaking of Business Series is designed to enhance the personal and professional development of future business and community leaders.

Sponsoring this series is LSC-CyFair’s Business and Communication Studies Division. For information, contact Junious, at 281.290.3511.
