A Precinct 4 Constable officer located a vehicle that he recognized as being stolen earlier the same day, Sunday (Aug. 19, 2018).
The deputy initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, however the driver refused to stop and fled.
After a short pursuit the suspect exited the vehicle and continued evading on foot. Constable deputies located the suspect hiding in the bushes a short distance away.
The suspect was identified as James Akoma, and the investigation revealed that Akoma had stolen the vehicle from a pizza delivery person earlier in the day.
“James Akoma was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with evading in a motor vehicle and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle,” said Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman. “He received a total bond amount of $6,000 out of the 208th District Court.”
