County leaders set to talk with Cypress about mile-long bridge, flood mitigation at Goodson Middle School


The Harris County Engineering Department, in coordination with the Harris County Flood Control District, invite you to attend a Public Meeting on February 18, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Goodson Middle School, 17333 Huffmeister Road, Cypress, TX 77429.

The purpose of this public meeting is to provide area residents with information and receive public input regarding the Little Cypress Creek Frontier Program and the Louetta Road and Bridge Project, which will cross Little Cypress Creek. The Louetta Road and Bridge Project, led by the Harris County Engineering Department in coordination with Harris County Flood Control District, will extend Louetta Road to provide a new, continuous thoroughfare between Stablewood Farms Drive and Telge Road. The project includes approximately 1.0 mile of new roadway and bridge construction. The project has been designed to avoid impacts to the effective Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) 100-year and 500-year floodplains, and the planned roadway will be constructed to remain near the existing ground level elevation.

The Public Meeting will occur on: February 18, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Goodson Middle School, 17333 Huffmeister Road, Cypress, TX 77429.

The Public Meeting will begin at 6 p.m. with a brief presentation regarding the Little Cypress Creek Frontier Program and ongoing flood damage reduction efforts in the region. An open house will follow where interested citizens are invited to review informational exhibits, discuss the Little Cypress Creek Frontier Program and the Louetta Road and Bridge Project with Harris County representatives, and provide comments to the Harris County Engineering Department and the Harris County Flood Control District.

Those interested in attending who have special communications or accommodation needs are encouraged to contact the Harris County Engineering Department Project Manager, Mr. Michael Turner, PE at least five working days prior to the date of the meeting. The Harris County Flood Control District and the Harris County Engineering Department will make every reasonable effort to accommodate these needs.
