CYPRESS —The first of three Cypress volleyball teams is up for an area championship today.

The Cy Creek Cougar spikers face the Katy Tigers today at Katy ISD’s Merrell Center at 5:30 p.m.

The Cougars edged past Houston Westside in five games by the scores of 33-31, 26-24, 17-25, 24-26 and 17-15, earlier this week to move another game deeper in the playoffs.

The other Cypress teams advancing are Cy-Fair and Cy Ranch, who will play their area title games tomorrow.

Cy-Fair advances to face Katy Cinco Ranch at 7 p.m. on Nov. 2 at Spring Branch ISD’s Coleman Coliseum (1050 Dairy Ashford Road).

Cy Ranch advances to face Klein at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 2 at Houston ISD’s Delmar Fieldhouse (2020 Mangum Road).

Tickets for all games will be sold at the gate for $5 each (adults and students).
