Cy-Fair HS setter named to 2018 TGCA All-State volleyball team

CYPRESS — Cy-Fair High School senior Elyse Buras was named to the 2018 Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) Volleyball All-State Team.

Buras, a setter for the Bobcats, was among the 40 standouts named to the Class 6A team. She finished the 2018 season with 1,473 assists, averaging 12.1 per game for Cy-Fair. In addition, Buras totaled 101 kills, 36 aces and 441 digs.

Her other accolade in 2018 included being named the Outstanding Setter for District 17-6A. Buras helped lead Cy-Fair to the district championship, as the Bobcats went 32-10 during the season and finished as area finalists.

As a junior, Buras earned All-District 17-6A first-team honors.
