Cy-Fair Trustees approve extending leave days; reduces remaining school board meetings

CYPRESS — The Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Board of Trustees approved authorizing the superintendent to extend the paid sick leave days from the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) set to expire on Dec. 31, 2020.

The superintendent will extend unused FFCRA leave days through the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year, providing a safeguard in case the FFCRA paid sick leave days are not extended by Congress.

During the meeting, the Board also approved waiving provisions in BE (LOCAL) BOARD MEETINGS for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year.

The waiver consolidates the remaining 2020-2021 Board meeting schedule from two meetings per month to one.

CFISD Board members voted unanimously to extend FFCRA paid sick leave days for employees requiring COVID-19 quarantine or isolation during its regularly scheduled meeting on Dec. 14. The Board also approved consolidating its remaining 2020-2021 meetings to one meeting per month. (CFISD Communications)
