Cy-Fair wins 17-6A title; 4-team tie atop 16-6A as six football teams enter playoffs

Nov. 7, 2022—CFISD ended its football season Nov. 5, claiming one outright district championship, one shared league title and qualifying six teams to the UIL Class 6A postseason.
Cy-Fair High School finished 7-0 in District 17-6A to claim an undefeated district title. In District 16-6A, Bridgeland® (https://www.cypressnewsreview.com/disclaimer/) High School , Cypress Falls, Cypress Ranch and Cypress Woods high schools all posted identical 5-2 records to have a four-way tie for the district championship.
Bridgeland® (https://www.cypressnewsreview.com/disclaimer/) High School and Cypress Ranch be 16-6A’s Division I representatives, while Cypress Falls and Cypress Woods will participate in the Division II-6A bracket.
In 17-6A, Spring Branch ISD’s Memorial and Stratford high schools finished in second and third place, respectively, behind Cy-Fair. Jersey Village and Cypress Creek high school both finished with a 4-3 district record, with the Falcons earning the fourth seed due to a head-to-head tiebreaker.
Cy-Fair and Jersey Village will be 17-6A’s Division I playoff teams.
The following bi-district playoff matchups are set for this week:
- Cy-Fair will play Houston Westside on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Ken Pridgeon Stadium (11355 Falcon Road);
- Bridgeland® (https://www.cypressnewsreview.com/disclaimer/) High School will play Klein Collins on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium (8877 Barker Cypress Road);
- Cypress Falls will play Tomball Memorial on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. at Ken Pridgeon Stadium;
- Cypress Ranch will meet Klein Cain on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. at Klein Memorial Stadium (16607 Stuebner-Airline Road);
- Cypress Woods will meet Tomball on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. at Tomball ISD Stadium (20235 Cypress Rosehill Road); and
- Jersey Village will meet Houston Lamar on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. at Houston ISD’s Delmar Stadium (1900 Mangum Road).
For games at Cy-Fair FCU and Pridgeon stadiums, season ticket holders from Cy-Fair, Bridgeland® (https://www.cypressnewsreview.com/disclaimer/) High School and Cypress Falls can renew their tickets through Monday, Nov. 7 and will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to renew. Any remaining tickets will be made available to the general public beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9.
The following online ticket links for visiting teams to Cy-Fair FCU and Pridgeon stadiums (Houston Westside, Klein Collins and Tomball Memorial) will be made available on Monday, Nov. 8 for each respective school. For Cypress Woods’ road playoff game at Tomball ISD Stadium, tickets will be sold online through Tomball ISD beginning Monday, Nov. 7.
For Cypress Ranch’s road playoff game at Klein Memorial Stadium, tickets will be sold online through Klein ISD beginning Monday, Nov. 7.
For Jersey Village’s road playoff game at Delmar Stadium, tickets will be sold online through Houston ISD beginning Monday, Nov. 7.

Football Playoffs 5: Cypress Woods High School senior Myles West and the Wildcats finished 5-2 to earn a share of the District 16-6A championship. They will meet Tomball on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. at Tomball ISD Stadium.
