CYPRESS TEXAS — CFISD bus drivers placed at the Gulf Coast Association for Pupil Transportation School Bus Safety Road-e-o, held April 27 at the Spring ISD Transportation Center, to advance to the state competition.

The transportation team members had previously qualified for the regional at the CFISD School Bus Safety Road-e-o on April 6.

In the Regular Ed competition, driver Bill Warner earned a second-place regional trophy, while driver Austin Baker earned third place.

In the Special Needs competition, driver Linda Hair and attendant Pamela Bokemeyer won second place. The team of driver Carol Moore and attendant Alyce Ware placed fourth and will serve as alternates at state.

CFISD’s representatives will advance to compete at the 46th annual Texas Association for Pupil Transportation Conference and Trade Show, to be held June 28-July 2 in Dallas.

“I am exceptionally proud of the hard work and dedication of our team,” said Dr. Kayne Smith, director of transportation. “We have a great transportation team at Cy-Fair and this shows our commitment to continued excellence. I am excited to have those who placed represent Cy-Fair ISD at the TAPT State Road-e-o event in Dallas in June.”
