Deadly wreck hits two trees, leaves car split in two


CYPRESS — According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, “on February 10th, 2021 at approximately 0234 hours, a known Hispanic male was operating a green 2010 Hyundai Genesis and was traveling southbound at the 10300 block of Barker Cypress Rd. Cypress, Harris County, Texas.

“The male was traveling at a high rate of speed and came upon a gradual curve on the roadway. While attempting to negotiate the gradual curve in the roadway the male lost control struck a tree breaking it. The male continued, striking a second tree.

“After striking the second tree the Hyundai Genesis split into two main pieces. The front half of the vehicle caught on fire. The male was ejected after striking the second tree. The male was transported by EMS on scene to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. This crash is being investigated by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.”
