Driver driver assaults officer, then attempts to bribe officers

CYPRESS — Precinct 4 constable officers responded to the 11800 block of Perry Road in reference to a suspected drunk driver asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle, Sunday (Aug. 12, 2018).

Upon deputies arriving, EMS was on scene attending to the intoxicated driver who then became combative with them.

Officers attempted to calm the suspect, but he punched a deputy in the nose and attempted to flee on foot. After a brief struggle, deputies were able to detain and identify the suspect as Jesus Villarreal.

While placing him in the back seat of a patrol vehicle, Villarreal attempted to bribe deputies by offering money in exchange for being released.

“Jesus Villarreal was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with assault on a public servant and bribery,” said Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman. “He received no bond out of the 177th District Court.”
