CYPRESS — Lone Star College-CyFair’s student instrumentalists will entertain music lovers with the Dec. 7 “Airs & Dances” Symphonic Orchestra Concert.
“Come enjoy the vibrant, rollicking dance music of the Baroque Era and the lush harmonies of French Romanticism,” said Dr. Brian Herrington, LSC-CyFair orchestral director.
Tracy Hendry, music student and conducting assistant, will direct the orchestra’s brass section in music from the Renaissance.
Joining LSC-CyFair’s talented musicians at this Saturday performance will be special guests with the Shimmer Flute Choir.
This musical evening is also an opportunity to help stock the LSC-CyFair “Food for Thought” Food Pantry, said Fine Arts Coordinator Joshua Estrada.
“You can enjoy the concert for free,” said Estrada. “However, we would love to see each patron bring a donation for our food pantry to help students in need.”
The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Stage Theatre located in the Center for the Arts building at 9191 Barker Cypress.
