CYPRESS — On Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at approximately 3:10 a.m., Salvador Lopez was operating a 2008 Nissan Versa outbound on the controlled access lanes in the 19300 block of US 290.
Lopez failed to maintain a single lane of traffic and struck the crash attenuator between the main lanes and the FM 1960 exit ramp.
The unidentified female passenger in the Nissan was found with no signs of life on scene as a result of the collision.
Lopez was found to be intoxicated, according to police reports. Due to his intoxication, he failed to maintain a single lane of traffic and struck the attenuator which caused the death of the complainant.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted the charge of intoxication manslaughter against the defendant.
This case is currently open and being investigated by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.
