Feeling at home at Roy’s Breakfast and Lunch

CYPRESS — Roy’s Breakfast and Lunch is that kind of restaurant that is extremely good, but isn’t obvious to the casual observer driving down FM 529. (Click here for Google Maps.)
There are no giant signs or flashy neon pulling your eyes from the road. But their tasty food is prepared quickly, the dining room is big enough to fit a Class 6A varsity football team, and the staff is extremely polite.
With the large number of restaurants in the Cypress-Katy area, my family had lots of options chose from for morning of the first day of our vacation. Everyone said we needed to go to Roy’s for our meal that started a journey across Texas earlier this summer.
To me, that says something very positive. As a husband and a dad, when I can feed everyone the dish they want with ease, and I can rest assured that they’re all getting a quality meal, I know that I’ve found a great place for my family to eat at.
Ultimately, it is like the old TV show, Cheers. You immediately feel at home. And you’ll meet everyone from your local constable patrol officers to your church’s pastor at the next table over.

Roy’s is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., seven days a week.
