CYPRESS — CFISD Coordinator of Secondary Fine Arts Tim Estelle was named the 2020 Texas Educational Theatre Association (TxETA) Administrator of the Year.
The award is given to an administrator that demonstrates outstanding work advocating for and supporting fine arts education. Estelle was nominated by fellow TxETA members, vetted against a rubric and chosen based on his quality of work and testimonies given by those who nominated him.
Estelle is among only a select few to receive the Administrator of the Year award as it is a recent recognition created by TxETA.
“I am grateful to those who took the time to nominate me, as well as to my peers in the Texas Theatre Administrators committee for considering and approving the recommendation,” Estelle said. “I am very fortunate to work in CFISD; a district that understands the role fine arts plays in a student’s well-rounded education. Thank you to our Board of Trustees, Dr. Mark Henry and all of my colleagues in the fine arts department for their continued support.”
Estelle was recognized at a virtual awards ceremony on Oct. 2. During the ceremony, colleagues and friends praised Estelle for his work.
“Tim is very deserving of the Administrator of the Year award,” said Mary Running, CFISD director of fine arts. “He is a true servant leader going above and beyond to support the fine arts students and teachers of CFISD. We are very proud of Tim’s recognition by the Texas Educational Theatre Association.”
