Five Cypress spikers make All-American watch list

CYPRESS — Five area volleyball players have earned national recognition and were named among the top 797 high school players by the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s Under Armour All America watch list.

The five Cypress spikers hail from two teams: Cy-Ranch and Cy-Woods.
Cy-Ranch’s conglomeration includes Peyton DeBello, Michelle Klein and Sabrina Sustala.
Cy-Woods’ athletes are Reagan Bob and Ann Florian Reder.

“I am honored to be recognized along side so many great players,” DeBello said. “We have so many talented players representing the Houston and Cypress area. I’m excited that Sabrina and Michelle were also recognized and that we get the opportunity to represent Cy-Ranch on the watch list and make a run at the district title our senior year.”

Like her Cy-Ranch teammates, DeBello has committed to playing college volleyball. DeBello is slated to play for Mississippi State, Klein will go to Arkansas State, and Sustala will join the Aggies of Texas A&M University.

“It’s honestly just a blessing to get recognition and it’s an amazing feeling and a huge accomplishment that just makes me want to work even harder in the gym,” Klein said about the nationwide attention.

“It feels great knowing we’re being put up for such an amazing opportunity!” Sustala said.

“I’m really honored to get this recognition and too see me and all my teams hard work pay off,” said AnnFlorian Reder, “I’m super excited for this season and what’s to come!”
