CYPRESS — Representatives from CFISD and the Dunham Pointe master-planned community took part in a groundbreaking ceremony on Feb. 24 for the new 1,300-acre neighborhood located south of Hwy. 290 at Mason Road.
CFISD purchased 145 acres from Dunham Pointe that will house a future CFISD education village, which will include a new high school, middle school and elementary school.
Based on current enrollment projections, the future elementary campus will be the first to open, with a projected opening date of fall 2027 or 2028.
The new high school will be CFISD’s 13th high school campus, which is currently projected to open in the fall of 2028 or 2029.
In addition to the education village, CFISD is currently scheduled to work with Harris County Emergency Services District No. 9 to build a fire station on the property.
“We’re really excited to welcome the Dunham Pointe community to the Cy-Fair family,” said Dr. Mark Henry, CFISD superintendent of schools. “CFISD continues to be a place where developers and homebuilders want to build because of our great district and the opportunities we have for families and their children.”
Dunham Pointe has contracted to sell approximately 1,000 lots to various builders in in the third quarter of 2021, and home building and sales are scheduled to begin then, as well. The development will also include commercial, retail and multi-family sections.
