Girl ejected from pickup truck near Waller


WALLER — According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a juvenile female was ejected from a pickup truck north of Waller at approximately 3:42 a.m. on July 5, 2019.

HCSO says Montana Morgan was operating a maroon 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 eastbound in the 31200 block of Knebel Road in Harris County. Morgan failed to stop at a stop sign located at the intersection of Knebel Road and Stokes Road. Morgan’s vehicle continued traveling off the roadway into a ditch with a shallow stream.

According to HCSO, a juvenile female passenger was ejected from the Dodge into the stream. The juvenile was found with no signs of life on scene. CPR was administered at which time a pulse was regained. The juvenile was taken by ground to a nearby hospital and subsequently taken by Life Flight to another hospital. The juvenile was found to be brain dead on July 6, 2019.

According to the sheriff’s office, a white female passenger and white male passenger were taken by Life Flight to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. A white male passenger and Morgan were transported by ground to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. An investigation into Morgan’s state of impairment is ongoing.

This case remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.
