Girls basketball postseason continues for 3 CFISD teams in area round

CYPRESS TEXAS — Three CFISD girls’ basketball teams advanced past the bi-district round of the Class 6A playoffs and move on to the area round, while Cy-Fair, Cypress Falls, Cypress Lakes, Cypress Springs and Langham Creek high schools concluded their seasons and finished as bi-district finalists.

Cypress Ranch High School defeated Round Rock Westwood 52-51 in overtime. The Mustangs advance to face Conroe Oak Ridge at 6 p.m. on Feb. 14 at Klein Cain High School (10201 Spring Cypress Road).

Jersey Village High School defeated Houston Lamar 78-33. The Falcons advance to face Fort Bend Dulles at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 14 at Spring Branch ISD’s Don Coleman Coliseum (1050 Dairy Ashford Road).

Cypress Creek High School sophomore Kyndall Hunter scored a game-high 29 points to lead the Cougars over Houston Bellaire in a bi-district playoff. They advanced to face Fort Bend Ridge Point at 6 p.m. on Feb. 15 at Don Coleman Coliseum.

Cypress Creek High School beat Houston Bellaire 64-58. The Cougars advance to face Fort Bend Ridge Point at 6 p.m. on Feb. 15 at Don Coleman Coliseum.

Tickets for all games will be sold at the gate for $5 each (adults and students).

Cy-Fair was defeated by Houston Heights 62-48. The Bobcats were District 17-6A’s third seed.

Cypress Falls was defeated by Houston Westside 80-30. The Golden Eagles were District 17-6A’s fourth seed.

Langham Creek was defeated by Round Rock Cedar Ridge 60-50. The Lobos were District 14-6A’s runner up.

Cypress Springs was defeated by Leander Vista Ridge 59-40. The Panthers were District 14-6A’s third seed.

Cypress Lakes was defeated by Pflugerville Hendrickson 69-52. The Spartans were District 14-6A’s fourth seed.
