Harmony waiting for TEA guidance after Abbott’s anti-mask announcement

According to a message sent to parents of the charter public school system, Harmony Public Schools will continue enforcing mask wearing and other safety measures, while waiting for guidance from the Texas Education Agency.
“Earlier today, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced that he is rescinding the statewide mask mandate, effective Wednesday, March 10. At this time, Harmony Public Schools awaits further guidance from the Texas Education Agency on the use of masks and other safety measures in schools, as it has done throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Student and staff safety continues to be our top priority. For the time being, we will continue to follow all of our health and safety protocols currently in place. We will update families as soon as possible if any changes to these protocols are made.”
