HARRIS COUNTY — According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, “on Sunday, February 21, 2021, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Harper’s Mill apartment complex located at 16160 Kieth Harrow in reference to a welfare check. Family members had reported the complainant, Victor Najera-Batanzos, had not shown up for work and they were concerned for his wellbeing.
“The complainant was found inside his apartment and pronounced deceased at the scene. Homicide investigators, who responded to the scene, believe the complainant is the victim of a homicide. They also believe the suspect or suspects in this case may have known the complainant prior to the incident. The exact cause of death is not being released at this time and will be determined by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.
“Investigators discovered that the complainant’s vehicle was also missing from the scene. The vehicle is described as a 2017 red Nissan Frontier pick-up with Texas license plate HDS-6731.
“The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information from anyone with knowledge of the complainant’s recent social history or the whereabouts of the complainant’s vehicle. Callers can contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit or CrimeStoppers of Houston.”
