CYPRESS — The Harris County Sheriff’s Office released the name of the man previous identified as a “young male” in last night’s article. His last publicly known status was as being in critical condition.
Deputies identified the complainant — and patient — as Geremiah DeSilva, 21.

According to the report, on July 22, 2019, at approximately 11:30 p.m., HCSO District 4 Patrol Units were flagged down in reference to a person laying on the side of the roadway in the 5900 block of North Fry Road.
According to reports from both the HCSO and Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department, deputies and CFVFD EMS checked on the welfare of the male and learned he sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
DeSilva was transported by Life Flight to the hospital where he is listed in critical condition. HCSO Homicide and Crime Scene Units responded to the scene and are conducting the investigation.
