HCSO unveils details from Cypress Station death


Editor’s note: This is an update to the Cypress News Review’s original article on the shooting incident.

HARRIS COUNTY — From the Harris County Sheriff’s Office: On Saturday, February, 23,2019, at 12:00 a.m. District 1 patrol deputies responded to 910 Cypress Station in regard to a shots fired disturbance.

A male now identified as Quenton Washington was found shot in the parking lot.

EMS responded and pronounced him dead on scene. He suffered a single gunshot wound.

A 56-year-old male subject was found standing in a stairway near the complainant with a handgun.

The stated that he and his girlfriend arrived home and after getting out of their vehicle they were aggressively approached by Washington and several other males.

Washington had recently been making threats toward the subject, and Washington had been armed on previous occasions.

The subject told investigators the males shoved his girlfriend as they attempted to make it to their apartment.

The male advised he was in fear for their safety, when he pulled a pistol and shot the complainant.

The Harris County District Attorney was contacted and the facts of the investigation to this point were relayed.

No charge was accepted against the male at this time.

The investigation is ongoing, pending the location of other parties/witnesses.
