Hempstead ISD FFA Project Show Results

HEMPSTEAD — The 32nd annual Hempstead ISD FFA Project Show broke six school records in the Grand and Reserve Champion categories at the Waller County Fairgrounds.

Preliminary figures at the close of the auction on Friday night indicate this year’s sale netted over $83,000 for student exhibitors. Friday night student exhibitors and bidder photos were taken by Offsite Labs.

It was a great year for the FFA Scholarship fund as well. FFA seniors were in the ring when the scholarship pig was auctioned off to the highest bidder. The winning bid of $4,000 went to Lakey Electric-Craig Carr and Barry & Laurie Bettis this year. Additional add-on donations for the scholarship pig were received during the auction totaling $3,500. The money raised from the pig will go directly into the scholarship fund which benefits seniors in the Hempstead FFA Chapter through local scholarships.
