CYPRESS TEXAS — The story of a Houston shooting death may have ended in Cypress yesterday afternoon, Feb. 25, 2019.

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 5600 Burnside Lane about 6:40 a.m. on Monday.

The police identified the victim as Kevin Ellis, 22.

“Mr. Ellis was walking to work near the above address when he was shot by an unknown suspect(s) driving in a light blue 2009 Hyundai Accent, which was later determined to be stolen,” investigators reported. “One of the suspects placed Ellis in the vehicle before leaving the scene.”

Later that day, investigators recovered the vehicle and Ellis’ body in a business parking lot in the 11425 Barker Cypress Road. The address is for the Walmart shopping center at Barker Cypress and Cypress N. Houston Roads.

The suspects are described only as two to three unknown males.
