Jersey Village baseball team advances to regional semifinals 


JERSEY VILLAGE — The Jersey Village High School baseball team advanced past the regional quarterfinal round of the Class 6A playoffs and move on to the regional semifinal round this week, while Bridgeland ® High School and Cy-Fair high schools concluded their seasons and finished as regional quarterfinalists.

Jersey Village defeated Katy in a best-of-three series by the scores of 4-3 in 11 innings and 3-2 in nine innings. The Falcons advance to face Pearland in a best-of-three series at the University of Houston’s Schroeder Park (3100 Cullen Blvd.):

  • Game 1 – May 27 at 7 p.m.;
  • Game 2 – May 28 at 7 p.m.; and
  • Game 3, if necessary – May 29 at 2 p.m.

Jersey Village will be the designated home team for Game 1 and Game 3. Tickets will be $10 apiece (adults and students) and sold online through the University of Houston. To access tickets, use the promo code “SOLOMON040.”

Parking is $10 per vehicle and can also be purchased online until 5 p.m. the day prior to the game. Any parking sales after that time will be on site utilizing cash or credit card. Event parking for baseball will be in lot 16B.

The Bears lost to Tomball in a best-of-three series by the scores of 4-1 and 2-1. The Bears were District 16-6A champions and finished as regional quarterfinalists.

Cy-Fair High School lost to Katy Tompkins in a best-of-three series by the scores of 7-0, 0-1 and 5-0. The Bobcats were District 17-6A champions and finished as regional quarterfinalists.
