CYPRESS — Spring into L.I.F.E with talks on wildlife, women’s rights, Holi festival and Chicano activism at Lone Star College-CyFair’s March weekly WebEx workshops.
These free Learning, Inspiration, Friendship and Enrichment (L.I.F.E.) programs are available Wednesdays through virtual presentations and are accessible for one week.

For world wildlife day, explore native wildlife with local enthusiast Channing Green and learn why we can’t live without them.
March 10: Ida B. Wells: Journalist, Educator, Suffragist
Join us for a special presentation on African-American Activist Ida B. Wells with Park Ranger Susan M. Philpott of the Belmont-Paul Women’s Equality National Monument. In celebration of Women’s History Month and the Women’s Suffrage Centennial, we will learn about Wells’ unique contributions to the U.S. women’s rights and civil rights movements.

Join Usha Dontharaju, Library Specialist, to learn about the festival of Holi, and to cook up some delicious recipes to celebrate!
March 31: Forebearers, Formative Experiences: Cesár Chávez and Dolores Huerta In Defense of the Rights of the Essential Worker and Birth of the Chicano Movement
Join Raul Reyes, History Professor, to examine the role of family and compelling life experiences behind the activism of Cesár Chávez and Dolores Huerta. He will focus on how familia and defining life experiences compelled them to a life of advocacy as agents change as the first Chicano Civil Rights leaders.
