Children ages 3-6 can enjoy a variety of topics and a bilingual storytime while learning Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) this month with the STEMtastic Literacy program at Lone Star College-CyFair.
Held in partnership with the Harris County Public Library’s LSC-CyFair Children’s Library, attendees will participate in hands-on activities, games and crafts as well as a Spanish and English story station.
“Our pre-service teachers incorporate STEM concepts as they read and lead fun, engaging activities,” said Fay Lee, LSC-CyFair’s Lead Faculty for the Education Department. “They will use activities with shapes, counting, seasons, monkeys, mice and cats to spark further interest in STEM.”
This literacy program session will be held from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26 in the children’s library at 9191 Barker Cypress.
Parents must accompany children at the session, which is limited to 30 participants. All participants are asked to arrive an hour in advance to receive a session ticket.
