LSC-CyFair Pop In To Your Library Tours Return

CYPRESS — Lone Star College-CyFair “Pop In To Your Library Tour” program returns June 10 – 13 and June 17-18.

“The library can be overwhelming to new students; however, we have found the tours to be a great way to help break down the barriers of library anxiety,” said Jane Stimpson, reference librarian.  “The most important things we want students to know are ‘where to do what’ in the library and how librarians are ‘expert resources’ available to assist students.”

This award-winning program offers 30-minutes or less tours at the beginning of each semester. Tours are set at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. and cover essential library resources, services and places.

No registration is necessary, just meet at the ID Card Station at the library entrance near the Technology Building.

Full-time librarians will lead the tours, which typically have fewer than 15 students to foster more engagement and discussion. Participants in these meaningful, high-impact library orientation tours also receive a free gift or are entered into a prize drawing.

One of the largest branches in the Harris County Public Library system and the largest campus in the LSC system, LSC-CyFair’s library is a joint-use community college and public library located on the LSC-CyFair campus at 9191 Barker Cypress.
