CYPRESS TEXAS — Enjoy exploring Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) with engaging activities April 13 at Lone Star College-CyFair’s popular STEMtastic Stations.
LSC-CyFair’s Education Department pre-service teachers are partnering with the children’s library staff to host several hands-on learning stations.
“We invite children ages 5-12 to join us for a morning of exploring the water cycle, physical and chemical properties of matter, and forms of energy!” said Shamim Arastu, Professor of Education. “Children and parents who have previously attended this event return each semester excited by what they will learn.”
Participants leave with a take-home experiment and parents will gain some resources they can use with their children to learn more about the morning’s highlighted STEM topics, said Arastu.
The 10 a.m. – 10:50 a.m. and 11 a.m. – 11:50 a.m. sessions, held Saturday, April 13, are each limited to 35 participants.
Parents must accompany children to the sessions in the Conference Center at 9191 Barker Cypress. However, they are asked to arrive an hour in advance to first pick up a session ticket in the children’s library.
