LSC-CyFair’s Annual Summer Reading Program Offers “A Universe of Stories” Fun for All Ages

CYPRESS Take a break from the summer heat and enjoy book clubs, crafts, laughter and learning June 3 – Aug. 3 with Lone Star College-CyFair’s Summer Reading Program.

With “A Universe of Stories” as this year’s theme, the library provides various free activities for children, teens and adults. Register now, and then read books, do activities, earn points and win prizes while supplies last.

In the library’s Kids’ Corner are baby, toddler, pre-school, Spanish and family storytimes as well as crafts, book clubs, family fun nights and more. The schedule also features Monday at the Movies and Wednesday Programs for ages 3 and up with magicians, Zumba, origami, Jedi Boot Camp and more. For ages 10-12, there are Tween Tuesday Crafts and Tween STEM Wednesdays.

Summer programs designed for teens ages 13-18 include Teen Tech Tuesdays using robots, stop-motion animation and paper circuits. Teen Crafternoon Wednesdays create art projects using crumpled paper, shrinky dinks, felt, marshmallows and more. Movies and cardboard automata are set for Teen Mixup Thursdays

The Summer Reading Program for adults kicks off with Valerie Koehler picks at the June 5 Learning, Inspiration, Friendship, and Enrichment (L.I.F.E.) program “Blue Willow Book Shop Summer Reading.”
