Major wreck on Barker Cypress leaves one dead


CYPRESS — According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, “on Monday, February 1, 2021, at approximately 1406 hours, Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 11500 block of Barker Cypress Road, in northwest Harris County, Texas in reference to a major crash. Betty Morris was operating a blue Honda CR-V southbound on Barker Cypress in the left lane. Sherie Lampley was the front right passenger in the Honda. Modupe Olabinjo was operating a black Nissan Pathfinder southbound in the left lane, directly in front of the Honda. Brecklyn Kizer was operating a white Kia Forte southbound in the left lane, directly in front of the Nissan. Carlton Bush was operating a white BMW X6 southbound in the left lane, directly in front of the Kia. The Nissan, Kia, and BMW were stopped due to heavy traffic at the time of the crash. Morris failed to control speed and struck the rear end of the Nissan with the front end of her Honda. The impact caused a chain-reaction crash between the vehicles. Olabinjo, Kizer, and Bush did not suffer any injuries during the crash. Morris and Lampley were injured during the crash and were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital Cypress by Cy-Fair EMS medic 3. On Tuesday, February 16, 2021, Morris was pronounced deceased at 2136 hours while being treated at Memorial Hermann Hospital for the injuries sustained in the crash. This incident is still under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division”
