CYPRESS STATION — At approximately 6:00 a.m., Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office fire investigators were requested to assist Cypress Creek EMS with a fire involving a burn injury that occurred in the 900 block of Cypress Station Dr., Houston, TX, (March 4, 2019).
Investigators interviewed a female victim who stated her boyfriend poured an ignitable liquid on her while she was in bed and started the fire.
“The District Attorney’s Office has accepted two counts of aggravated assault of a family member with a deadly weapon for this heinous crime,” said Harris County Fire Marshal Laurie L. Christensen. “Charles Mosley Jr. (DOB 1/15/1985) has been arrested and is booked in the Harris County Jail. We are thankful the victim survived and is doing as well as can be expected.”
Mosley is being charged with two counts of of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon because a six-year-old was present at the time of the fire. The child was not injured. The suspect was burned when he started the fire. There was minimal fire damage to the apartment unit where the incident took place.
