McAleavey slams her way to state wrestling title

CYPRESS TEXAS — Out of 40 Cypress-area wrestlers, two reached the state championship bouts at the Berry Center in their hometown, Saturday afternoon.

Cy Ranch’s Zack Good faced off with arguable the nation’s best wrestler in his 160-pound weight class. However, Katy’s Daniel Manibog overcame Good for his third state title.

However, it was Cy Creek’s Amanda McAleavey who brought home the gold. She capped a perfect 50-0 season record with a convincing victory over Adia Ronea, of Keller Central.
