CYPRESS TEXAS — Dance teams from 12 CFISD high schools showcased their talents at the 2019 CFISD Dance ShowOffs on Jan. 19 at the Berry Center.
Each dance team performed two routines at the event, which kicked off with a performance by the All-District Dance Team. Dancers gave solo and ensemble performances at the Berry Center on Jan. 18, prior to Saturday’s events. The combined events featured more than 700 participants districtwide.

“The CFISD Dance ShowOffs and Solo and Ensemble event(s) once again provided the opportunity to showcase the talented and hard-working students and directors in our secondary dance programs,” said Timothy Estelle, coordinator of secondary fine arts. “This year, we had over 200 individual performances, in addition to the 26 team routines showcased over two days. Thanks to the continued support of our community, dance education continues to be a strong component of our district fine arts programs.”

The following nine students were announced at the conclusion of the event as recipients of the 2019 All-District Dance Team Scholarships:
- Kendall Lyons, Cypress Ranch Classics – $250;
- Peyton Davis, Cypress Woods Crimson Cadettes – $250;
- Jordyn Driver, Cypress Falls SkyDancers – $250;
- Caroline Adami, Langham Creek Bailadoras – $750;
- Katie Lipiz, Cypress Springs Panteras – $750;
- Anna dos Santos-Becker, Cypress Ridge Dazzlers – $1,000;
- Jasmine Hertel, Cypress Falls SkyDancers – $1,000;
- Zaria Sumling, Langham Creek Bailadoras – $1,000; and
- Asia Franklin, Cypress Ranch Classics – $1,500.
