CYPRESS — According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 9:06 p.m. on July 5, 2019, John Hermesch was operating a black 2005 Yamaha YZF-R1 southbound in the 7200 block of North Eldridge Parkway, without headlights on during nighttime.
Deputies reported that a Hispanic male was operating a gray 2006 Nissan Xterra northbound on North Eldridge Parkway. The Nissan attempted to turn westbound on to the 13200 block of Gendley Drive when the Yamaha collided with the right side of the Nissan.
Hermesch was taken by EMS to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
According to HCSO, the driver of the Nissan did not exhibit any signs of intoxication. This case remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.
