New Uniform for Boy Scouts of America

CYPRESS — Members of the Boy Scouts of America have a new option for uniforms the next time they grow out of their old uniforms.

The updated shirt and pants continue the move away from heavy material that isn’t fit for hot temperatures like those we see in the greater Houston area.

The updated BSA logo replaces the spelled out “Boy Scouts of America” that adorned the scouts’ field uniforms for decades. The new shirts also have a better ventilation system on the back to help scouts and leaders stay a bit cooler.

The new logo came along with the opening of the organization to female youth members, over a year ago (click to read).

The sizing is also “true-to-size” fit, with less guessing when comparing your normal clothing to uniform sizes.

The pants have the staple zip-off pants legs, that allow for wearers to modify their clothing for the heat or cold. There are also now adjustable tabs on the waist so parents won’t have to buy as many sets as their scout hits growth spurts.

You can order the updated uniforms online here, or at the Cypress-area Scout Shop located at 6512 Farm to Market 1960 Rd W, Houston, TX 77069.
