Nintendo announced a pair of video game tournaments today.

The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate North America Open 2019 and the Splatoon 2 North America Inkling Open 2019 are open to players across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. U.S. players must be at least 13 years of age, however.

Cypress players would be in the Southeast region, playing against competitors from the South as well as a large chunk of Mexico.

Competitors may register online until 9 a.m. the day of their respective qualifier event. However, each region has a cap of 2,048 check-in players for each qualifier. Therefore it behooves players to sign up quickly, before their preferred online event is booked full.
