CYPRESS — Quick actions by district 4 patrol deputies are credited in the arrest of a robbery with bodily injury suspect in west Harris County.
On Monday, October 29, 2018, deputies were dispatched to the Hobby Lobby store in the 16000 block of Highway 529.
A loss prevention officer for a nearby Walmart told deputies that Gerald Warren, 40, had entered their store and was “under scanning” items while checking out.
He would place a paper over the barcodes and scan the item as usual.
A loss prevention officer confronted Warren as he was leaving the business.
The employee was trying to get Warren to return inside, when Warren pushed the basket into the employee, injuring him as he fell.
Warren then ran to a late model Cadillac Escalade and drove away.
He was followed to the nearby Hobby Lobby were they alerted deputies to his whereabouts.
He was taken into custody without incident, and transported to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Inmate Processing Center.
He is being held on a $5,000 bond.
