CYPRESS — A Precinct 4 Constable officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle at Spring Cypress Road and State Highway 249, Sunday (Aug. 19, 2018).

The driver failed to stop and fled from the deputy. The deputy pursued the vehicle approximately 0.6 miles before the vehicle stopped and the driver was detained.

When the officer detained the driver, identified as Thomas Lorato, a strong odor of alcohol was smelled emitting from Lorato’s breath. Further investigation by the deputy led to  Lorato being charged with driving while intoxicated.

“Lorato were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with evading arrest with a motor vehicle and driving while intoxicated,” said Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman. “His bond was set at $1,500.”
