You may have heard about police officers rescuing baby ducklings recently. Here’s what happened, from the horse’s mouth.

According the Precinct 5 Constable’s office, deputies were on patrol on Aug. 6, around midnight on an otherwise quiet night. A man flagged down the officers at Eldridge and Tanner, alerting them about a pair of distressed adult ducks. Upon closer inspection, there were 17 baby ducklings that had slipped through a storm drain cover, and the drake and hen were raising a ruckus in the parking lot.

Sgt. Troy Morin and Deputy Jacob Schnur came to their rescue.
